TV Shows that entertained me in 2013

In 2013, I was glad I spent my time on the following shows. I thoroughly enjoyed them and I consider them time well spent. A couple of these shows are from the past and I only got around to see them only this year.  I recommend them to you if you are interested in spending time on shows that leaves you yearning for more rather than wondering will-this-end-before-I-start-seeing-grey-hairs.

Firefly (2002)

Firefly should easily be the greatest TV series that was cancelled mid-way in season one. A space adventure in the western style, Firefly was simply mind-blowing. Sci-fi, action, adventure, comedy, drama - it's a pot boiler of an entertainer. Sadly, it had only 14 episodes before the curtains came down. But these 14 episodes are worth it. A movie was made (Serenity) after a few years to bring some closure.

Cowboy Bebop (1998)

A anime-based space adventure where a group of bounty hunters go on small missions. This is a masterpiece. Period. Engaging story, terrific music and great characterization make it a treat to watch. It has totally 22 episodes and totally worth your time.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra (2012-2013)

A spin off of the critically acclaimed Avatar : The Last Airbender from Nickelodeon, this series is about the next avatar - Korra. The first season introduces us to the new united world - the Republic city. The second season started a bit slow, but finishes with a bang. If you are an Avatar fan, check this out. My favorite episode is the one that shows how the first Avatar came into existence. Gorgeous animation.

Modern Family - Season 5 (2013)

The Pritchett family continues to make me laugh more than any other running comedy show. I'm still not sure who my favorite character is - every character is so unique. And the writers make sure that in spite of so many characters around, each, including Lilly, get a worthy equal space in each episode.

Hope you find them enjoyable as I did. If you have any recommendations, please do comment!.
