EVAM was excellent

After a long movie marathon, we kinda decided to do something different. We kids went to a magic show by Jadugar Anand :-). The show was good but not spectacular. As we grown up kids are pretty aware that there isn't any real magic, our subconscious mind didn't allow us to enjoy it fully. After each trick we discussed how the guy tried to fool us. But some of the tricks were really amazing like the statue of liberty disappearing or people disappearing and re-appearing in different boxes. We would have enjoyed it if we were 10 years younger, but it was too much for bunch of 23 year olds..

One more attempt to watch a live show proved interesting though. It was EVAM's Cut the Hamlet,a hilarious spoof on Shakespeare's Hamlet. There were just 3 guys who did all the 8 roles in the play and they were pretty good. Hamlet's introduction with Rajini's bgm score was really really funny. IMO, the play could have been much more funnier if they had really spoofed the Hamlet. But I guess they had to digress because not many people in the audience would have been aware of such a play or even if they were, not the complete plot.

Of the three actors, the eldest one (the one with the red and purple costume in the pic) was the funniest. He played the king, the queen and also the lady love of Hamlet and he was absolutely marvellous. I enjoyed the small five anecdotes more than the main play. They were really innovative and funny especially the one with the Popy and Michael Angelo.

The audience rocked too! A group of girls who sat in my row were totally
involved into the play. They were enjoying as much as I did watching Spidy weaving his web on the big screen :-)

It was enjoyable experience with EVAM and my pre-show worries that the tickets were priced too much for a play, vanished after the show itself. Keep it up EVAM! you guys rocked!
